I’m Gena. I’m a born-and-raised Michigander, but I actually packed up and moved to Atlanta to jumpstart my hair career and experience the pace of a bigger city. After soaking up that energy for a while, I realized I missed the grounding feeling of home, so I moved right back to reconnect with my roots here in Michigan.

Growing up, I was obsessed with playing dress-up. I fell in love with that specific feeling you get when you look and feel like your absolute best self, and that's exactly why I got into this industry. I want to pass that warmth and confidence along to everyone who sits in my chair.

Technically, I live for a rich, dimensional brunette or a striking red—as a former redhead myself, I have a major soft spot for them. There is nothing better than using strategic dimension to completely elevate a look, or executing a modern, layered cut with a classic, bouncy blowout.

When I’m not at the salon, I’m usually working out, staying active, or outdoors. I’ve always had a lot of energy—when I was a kid, I loved cloud watching so much that I painted my entire bedroom to look like the sky. My biggest long-term goal is to take my parents on an all-expenses-paid trip around the world to thank them for always backing my career.
